PSA for biomethane from landfill gas: a flexible solution for methane recovery
Applications and technologies
Producing biomethane from landfill gas efficiently and flexibly is possible thanks to the integration of a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) process for recovering methane from off-gas with a CO₂ separation system. The technology presented in this interview uses activated carbon to selectively separate methane from nitrogen, ensuring high operational flexibility and adapting to different CO₂ concentrations and flow rates of up to 5,000 m³/h. While offering significant advantages in terms of versatility, this solution is particularly suitable for large-scale plants or in markets where biomethane production is supported by incentive schemes.
