RAM speaks to us about the Motorways of the Sea and Biomethane/RNG
Applications and technologies
The Motorways of the Sea pollute eight times less than road transport and could help obtain better results thanks to alternative fuels, such as liquid biomethane/RNG. Shipowners, however, are reluctant to introduce engines designed to use these types of fuels because supply points are still not readily available. The latter, in turn, are not being widely installed because there are still too few vessels to use them. Which, then, are the possible future developments of the Motorways of the Sea? And what are the corresponding incentives available? We discussed this very subject with RAM - Logistica, Infrastrutture e Trasporti Spa, in-house company of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
