RED II certification for biogas plants in France
Market and policy
The RED II certification is mandatory for all plants producing electricity and thermal energy or biomethane from biomass, affecting all bioenergy sectors, to demonstrate their sustainability. Certification (mandatory for sites with a production greater than 200 Nm3/h or 2 MWth) follows four criteria: sustainability criteria, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, production consistency and data traceability. Let's take a closer look at these concepts with Christelle Gobbe from Synergis Environment.
