Spain: biomethane/RNG and hydrogen in the gas distribution network
Market and policy
The Spanish gas network is well articulated: in addition to having 6 international connections for importation by pipeline and 7 regasification terminals, it has a pipeline network of over 12,000 km and a distribution network of 8,000 km. This network, besides guaranteeing a future for the development of cogeneration from natural gas in the country, is suitable for the transport of renewable gases such as hydrogen and biomethane/RNG which are already distributed.
