Syngas as a renewable energy source
Research
Syngas, or synthetic gas consists mainly of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. An innovative application of syngas consists in its fermentation in biorefinery processes for the production of biofuels. We asked Prof. Ioannis V. Skiadas what progress has been made in research related to syngas and in the exploitation of CO2 and what are the obstacles that we still have to overcome.
