Cooperativa Speranza is one of the best examples of the biogas advantages for the environment, the local economy and the health. Indeed Cooperativa Speranza has two biogas plants for a total capacity of 2 MW, that are powered by by-products and animal waste. A study has shown that the fertility of Cooperativa Speranza soil has increased thanks to the digestate. Moreover the heat produced powers the district heating network of Candiolo Institute for research and treatment of cancer.
