The European biogas sector produces 167 TWh of biogas and 26 TWh of biomethane, with a total of 18,943 biogas plants and 725 biomethane plants installed as of 2019. These and a great deal of other data on the development and growth potential of the European biogas and biomethane sectors are available in the latest version of the EBA Statistical Report 2020, published just a few weeks ago by the European Biogas Association!
