Pretreatment of animal by-products according to the European Union
Anaerobic digestion
The European Union Regulation no.1069/2009 on animal by-products allows the treatment of certain categorises of the latter in composting and anaerobic digestion plants. By-products of this type must be managed in such a way that all possible pollutants are treated and disposed of before any disposal process and therefore also before they are used for biogas production.
