The biogas market in Serbia is growing: these are the data of the Serbian Biogas Association (Biogas Srbija)
Market and policy
The biogas sector is growing also in Serbia, where installed systems have a current total capacity of 22MW and other 25 MW have already been authorised. This is the result of an incentive system that provides for a feed-in tariff of about €0.18 per kWh. And how about biomethane? Although no systems currently support it, it has a high potential which can surely be exploited. Dragan Zukić of the Serbian Biogas Association (Biogas Srbija) gives us a picture of the sector, of the investments required and of the obstacles yet to overcome.
