Which fuels will play a role in the future of heavy transport? With biomethane/RNG, a 90% reduction in emissions and a 30% reduction in costs
Sustainable mobility
We asked Scania, a leader in the production of industrial vehicles, which each year invests 7% of its turnover in innovation. The alternative fuels that Scania has had its eye on for some time now include methane, biomethane/RNG, hybrid and electric engines. And the advantages are obvious: if a natural gas engine makes it possible to reduce 15% of CO2 emissions, the biomethane one reaches 90% (considering the full cycle, from the source to the wheel). Moreover, these fuels also provide for cost savings, reducing consumption by around 15% and costs by around 30%. Benefits, therefore, not only for the environment but also for the bottom line.
