Waterproofing systems produced in a sustainable way. The Polyglass-Mapei experience
Polyglass-Mapei, a leader in the waterproofing sector, has always been attentive to the issue of sustainability and a more rational use of energy. In fact, in 2022 it installed a trigeneration plant with a production capacity of 2700 kWe for self-consumption within the plant, 500 kWt for the bituminous membranes department and 1500 kWf (produced by an absorber) for the synthetic department. This configuration allows the company to optimise its energy costs, to make the plant autonomous from an electrical point of view and above all to save at least 2,100 tons/year of CO2. A figure in line with the sustainability path undertaken by Polyglass-Mapei that also involves its suppliers and customers.
