Slovakia is strengthening its position in the biomethane sector thanks to the Horovce plant, now one of the largest biomethane facilities in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Owned by Reticulum, the plant produces up to 900 Nm³/h of biomethane, using mainly biodegradable waste from the food industry as feedstock. The resulting digestate is reused as a natural fertilizer on local farmland, supporting a circular economy approach. The high quality of the biomethane produced also improves process efficiency while reducing operating costs. The project is a tangible example of the energy transition taking place across Central Europe and highlights Slovakia's growing role in the development of the biomethane sector.
