The CIB Farming Tour makes a stop at the first agricultural biomethane plant in Italy
Case history
The CIB has chosen Lombardy as the new stop for its traveling tour to discover the farms producing biogas and biomethane! The Farming Tour in fact stopped in Corbetta, in the province of Milan, at the La Castellana Farming Company, a virtuous example of sustainable agriculture with 900 hectares of cultivated fields and about 15 thousand pigs! Since 2007, the company has been producing electrical energy thanks to biogas and, for a couple of years now, also biomethane. The Castellana biomethane plant was the first agricultural biomethane plant in Italy and an example of how this virtuous model is sustainable and replicable in other activities too!
