From waste to energy: with the Valorish project, biogas becomes a driver of the circular economy
Research
Within the VALORISH project, anaerobic digestion plays a key role in valorising production residues and converting them into biogas. The project promotes a circular biorefinery approach that integrates multiple technologies to maximise value recovery from by-products. After extracting high-value products such as collagen and fish oil, the remaining streams are converted into energy used directly on-site, reducing the need for external electricity. The energy valorisation of waste thus contributes to improved sustainability and helps close the resource loop. Let’s explore more in this interview.
