Digestate: an example of best practice
Anaerobic digestion
Digestate is a product with a high fertiliser value whose use can lead to enormous benefits. This is demonstrated by the Società Agricola Palazzetto, which has been adopting really optimal digestate management practices for years. The liquid part is stored in covered tanks and then sent to the plots of land through underground pipes. Here, it is buried in the soil through umbilical systems and cutting-edge cultivation techniques to optimise soil tillage and to avoid emissions into the atmosphere as much as possible. The solid part is instead used as a soil conditioner or as a litter for animals. A best practice that has also aroused the interest of the US market, as Emilio Folli from the Società Agricola Palazzetto tells us.
